Design-Assist vs. Design-Build
How the two delivery methods differ and the level of MSS engagement.
In the design-assist delivery method, MSS is onboarded onto projects at the schematic level to ensure the client receives the best value for their budgets.
In the design-build method, MSS provides turnkey solutions from design through to commissioning. The project is designed, managed, and executed by MSS.
Outlining the scope and associated costs early in the process allows MSS to make critical decisions during the design phase. As part of our Design & Development services, our preconstruction team of engineers, estimators and construction professionals work closely with the client to establish the scope and budget of the project during the design phase.

The utilization of Building Information Model (BIM) and Virtual Design Construction (VDC) in construction projects provides the potential for a virtual information model to be handed from the design team to the contractor and subcontractors, each adding their own additional discipline-specific knowledge and tracking of changes to the single model. Our BIM and VDC team uses the latest technology to create intelligent, interactive virtual models allowing us to improve communication, efficiency, and risk management on every project.
