MSS Solutions, LLC has an opening for Mechanical Assessment Engineer in Charlotte, North Carolina. Candidate will conduct facility assessments of the HVAC, Plumbing, and Mechanical Systems of our customers (mostly hotels and resorts), while interacting with our Project Managers (PMs), customers, vendors, and subcontractors.

Job duties will involve: working with customers to perform comprehensive facility assessments of major HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical equipment and systems operations; documenting the assessment and formulating reports regarding each HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical system, its life expectancy, and future replacement options; determining the condition, remaining useful life, required costs, and remedial measures for the customer’s systems; providing technical descriptions of any identified deficiencies; making recommendations for correcting deficiencies in sufficient technical detail for future project planning and cost estimating; preparing CapEx Plans specific to the customer’s needs, including all identified projects, cost estimates, work timelines, and ROI projections; conducting meetings and calls with the company’s PMs and customers to discuss the assessments; working with the PMs during the project implementation phase to ensure project concept continuity; and reviewing equipment submittals and scopes of work from the PMs to ensure conformity with the original assessment.

The position requires overnight travel approximately two to three times per month (two to three days at a time) to customer facilities (mostly hotels and resorts) throughout the United States and the Caribbean.

Candidate must have a master’s, or higher, degree (or a foreign educational equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.  Candidate also must have a Professional Engineer (PE) license or an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation with plans to pursue a PE license.
